Eat Well Yolo & Kid's Famers Market
Through the Eat Well Yolo & Kid's Farmers Market program, families can receive approximately 10 pounds of fresh produce twice per month. The Family Action Centers of Colusa County, First 5 Colusa and Yolo Food Bank are working together to make this program available to families in Dunnigan and Arbuckle.
"Eat Right When Money's Tight"
This class features cooking and food budgeting demonstrations using a “Harvest of the Month” fruit or vegetable and a whole grain. Qualifying income families receive a free bag of food at the end of each class. Separate children activities are available.
USDA Food Distribution
EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EFAP) is a Federal program that supplements the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost. U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) foods are purchased at the national level and made available to state agencies to distribute. States then provide the food to local agencies that have been selected to distribute commodities in their region. The Arbuckle Family Action Center distributes food to families in Arbuckle, Dunnigan, and Grimes. Products distributed through this program vary each month but often include non-perishable goods, frozen proteins, fresh produce and grains. To qualify for this program, individuals must self-certify that they meet income guidelines that have been determined by the State of California.
Senior Food Boxes
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides nutritious food resources to income eligible adults over 60. The CSFP Food package is designed to supplement the participant’s monthly nutritional needs.
CAPC Mobile Food Pantry
Colusa County CAPC & FRC, through partnership with First 5 Colusa and the Family Action Centers of Colusa County are offering a Mobile Food Pantry that offers food assistance and supplies to families in need in every community of our County.
