Continuing education is the passport to a brighter future for you and your family. Along with support from our partners, we offer parent cafés, car seat safety, nutrition and cooking classes as well as employment resources and job search assistance to help you achieve your goals.
Bumps and Beyond Coffee Talks
The Bumps & Beyond Coffee Talks is a support group for new and expectant parents. Meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of each month at 10:30 a.m.
Make Parenting A Pleasure (MPAP) Parenting Classes promote family resilience by bringing parents together to share and normalize their parenting experiences. MPAP provices parents with parenting tips & strategies, an overview of child development, community resources, and a support network.

The Family Action Centers of Colusa County collaborates with Colusa County Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health, First 5 Colusa, and California Highway Patrol, to offer Car Seat Safety Events bi-annually in Colusa County. We also offer Car Seat Safety Classes several times per month at a variety of times and locations. Participants of these classes exit the class with the knowledge and understanding of how and why to install various car seats to keep thier family safe.
*Pre-Registration and a $20 fee is required at the site you wish to attend!
Make Parenting A Pleasure
Nutrition Class

This class features cooking and food budgeting demonstrations using a “Harvest of the Month” fruit or vegetable and a whole grain. Qualifying income families receive a free bag of food at the end of each class. Separate children activities are available.
